When skse is fully complete for special edition, it will in turn means special edition will be far superior to regular edition, and should encourage many more mods to be made on a far superior engine, i have noticed already that special edition handles mods far better then regular edition, again because of 64bit engine, far better memory management. both of which are fairly new for special edition, and are not even in beta stage yet, they are literally for testing purposes. skyrim will obviously have much more mods, because for 1 regular edition has been out several years before special edition has been out and 2, a lot of mods require both SKSE and Sky UI MCM menu, mod authors that use these will not release incomplete or badly nerfed versions of their mods, until both SKSE and SKY UI MCM menu is completely ready for special edition. Yea thats fine, but as said i am referring to legendary edition, in your op you said you don't want to buy the legendary edition because of said reasons, yet i mentioned its exact same game so what works on regular skyrim will definitely work on legendary edition thus you may as well buy legendary edition to not only save money, but you will be guranteed to be able to run every single mod that works on regular edition of skyrim, the majority of which requires the dlc.Īnd skyrim special edition is in its own section because it technically is a new game, the entire engine is upgraded, so it could be classed as a new ip, even though it aint, but as far as mods are concerned the majority will not work due to the changes bethesda has made to the new engine.
